The Polk County Fair Society is a non-profit organization that promotes education for the youth in our community through the Polk County Fair. Many learning experiences and lifelong skills are learned through exhibiting at the fair. In 2017 there were more than 6,729 exhibitors. It is also an educational showcase of agriculture in our county. We pride ourselves in providing an opportunity for town and country to come together to celebrate our county. In 2018 our attendance was approximately 38,000 individuals.

When you think of the words ‘county fair’ what do you think of? Do you think of the typical fair food, carnival rides, family, friends, kids, animals, exhibits, entertainment, or grandstand events? Or is it a mixture of all of the above?

For many of us, the fair is more than that. The fair is hard work put in year-round by our intrepid volunteers and their families. The hard work put in is all worth it to see everyone enjoy it during those 4 days at the end of July. To see everyone enjoying the fair is the blue ribbon to top off all of our hard work.

Fair Society

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM

Anyone is eligible to become a member of the Polk County Fair Society. This organization is responsible for conducting the fair. The membership fee is $10.00 for five years. Memberships can be purchased at any time but must be purchased more than 30 days prior to the annual meeting to vote the first year.

Please send membership requests to Secretary, Mary Berkland, 825 233rd Street, Osceola, WI 54020 . Please include your name, address, telephone number, email, and committees you would be interested in serving on.

The Polk County Fair Board of Directors are elected from the members of the Fair Society.There are four geographical districts and one at-large district.Three individuals serve from each district, creating a board of 15 directors.The Secretary,Treasurer, and Financial Secretary can be selected to serve rather than elected from one of the districts.

The following are geographical descriptions of each geographical district:

Northwest: Comprised of the area north of Highway 8, west of Highway 46 to Milltown, and west of Highway 35 from Milltown to the northern county line.

Northeast: Comprised of the area north of Highway 8, east of Highway 46 to Milltown, and east of Highway 35 from Milltown to the northern county line.

Southwest: Comprised of the area south of Highway 8 and west of Highway 65.

Southeast: Comprised of the area south of Highway 8 and east of Highway 65.

When a director is recognized as an Outstanding Fair Person by the Wisconsin Association of Fairs, they become an Emeritus director. There is no limit to the number of Emeritus Directors the board may contain.
